Mass Oct. 13 for James F. Jensen

James F. Jensen of Southampton died on Friday in Riverhead at the age of 82. Mr. Jensen, known as J.J., was a bartender at Cittanuova in East Hampton for many years. A funeral Mass will be celebrated on Friday, Oct. 13, at 10:30 a.m. at the Basilica Parish of the Sacred Hearts of Jesus and Mary in Southampton, with burial to follow at Sacred Hearts Cemetery.

Arrangements are being handled by the Brockett Funeral Home in Southampton. An obituary will appear in a future issue.

Construction fences were placed around the Springs General Store last week, and Daniel Bennett, co-owner of Springs General Real Estate, confirmed that he had applied for a building permit and was hopeful work could begin soon, with a possible opening in 2027.
