The Evelyn Alexander Wildlife Rescue Center in Hampton Bays will host an online training session on Tuesday for people who have an interest in volunteering to care for sick, injured, or orphaned wild animals.
The "rescue and transport" training class will be from 7 to 8:30 p.m. on Zoom. Registration is by calling the center at 631-728-9453. Participants will be sent a Zoom link after they sign up.

The case of Augusta Ramsay Folks, an 81-year-old accused of cutting down two trees on Meadowlark Lane in Sag Harbor in June of last year — in violation of the village’s new tree-protection law — was back in court on July 8, when a settlement proposed by Ms. Folks was rejected by the village and then withdrawn by her attorney.
