Health Fair This Week at St. Luke's

St. Luke's Episcopal Church will be the site of a free health fair on Friday. Sponsored by the East Hampton Healthcare Foundation, it will offer flu shots, glucose exams, H.I.V. and hepatitis C testing, and blood pressure screenings. Applications will be available for no-cost mammograms and Pap smear tests for women over 40 who are uninsured, and for colorectal screenings. The fair will run from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m.

Representatives from health insurance organizations, OLA of Eastern Long Island, the East Hampton Town Human Services Department, and Cornell Cooperative Extension will answer questions about nutrition, food stamps, and more.

Twenty of so monks from a monastery in Texas are making their way to Washington, D.C., on a mission of compassion, while locally a class on the Buddhist path to world peace will be held in Water Mill.

‘ICE Out’ Vigils on Friday

Coordinated vigils for what organizers call victims of federal Immigration and Customs Enforcement will happen across the East End on Friday at 6 p.m. and in Riverhead on Saturday at 10 a.m., with local events scheduled in East Hampton Village and Sag Harbor.
