The holiday toy drive of the Sag Harbor Community Food Pantry has begun. New, unwrapped toys can be donated at the Long Wharf Windmill daily through Dec. 11 between noon and 5:30 p.m.
The toy drive is co-sponsored by the Sag Harbor Lions Club, whose members have begun selling Christmas trees at the windmill during those hours.
The drive benefits the patrons of the food pantry. Proceeds from the Christmas tree sales are donated to several village organizations.
The antifungal pesticide Broadform, previously banned by the D.E.C., has been found to be effective against beech leaf disease in a far lower dose. Arbortech, a fungicide that is injected rather than sprayed, has also shown some effectiveness with less of an environmental impact.
Hamptons Whodunit, the festival that brings mystery and thriller fiction authors as well as true crime experts to East Hampton Village each spring, is expanding from its local origins with the first true crime weekend in Savannah, Ga.
ChangeHampton will host a Bio-Blitz, a citizen-scientist training initiative at the Community Pollinator Garden and Native Grassland Meadows on the East Hampton Town Hall campus.
