The Animal Rescue Fund of the Hamptons will hold its next Pet Food Pantry event on Jan. 16.
Donations of food, for both cats and dogs, will be welcomed, and ARF will distribute pet food to community members needing it. Both donations and distribution will take place on that day, a Saturday, from noon to 3 p.m. at 124 Daniels Hole Road in Wainscott.
Bags and cans of wet and dry food or treats must be unopened. Social distancing will be observed, and ARF has asked that all visitors wear masks.
The plan for the 1.12-acre Wainscott Green and a park to commemorate the L.G.B.T.Q.+ community that was something of a pioneer on the East End was endorsed by members of the hamlet’s citizens advisory committee on Saturday.
At Pitch Your Peers the Hamptons, paying members pitch local charitable organizations to one another, and everyone votes on where to allot their funds. This year, the group awarded grants to the Retreat and Share the Harvest Farm.
