The Police Departments of Southampton Town and Quogue Village will offer free car seat safety checks at Kmart in Bridgehampton on Saturday.

From 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. in the Bridgehampton Commons at 2044 Montauk Highway, anyone can stop by to have the installation of their child’s infant, convertible, or booster seat checked by a certified technician.

Seventy percent of children’s safety seats are incorrectly set up, so it is important to confirm that the installation is correct, the two departments said in an announcement.

Kmart will also be offering 20 percent off the original price of car seats during the inspections. Additional information is at 631-702-2247.
