Gershon Hits the Talkhouse

Wed, 02/19/2020 - 23:32

The Stephen Talkhouse in Amagansett will host a town hall-style event with Perry Gershon, who is seeking the Democratic Party’s nomination to challenge Representative Lee Zeldin in New York’s First Congressional District, on March 8 from 4 to 7 p.m.

Pints With Perry will feature a question-and-answer session with the candidate, who lost to Mr. Zeldin by four percentage points in the 2018 election, followed by a performance by Badlands, which plays the music of Bruce Springsteen. Those interested in attending may R.S.V.P. at perrygershon.com/ talkhouse.

The event is separate from the series of 10 town hall-style events Mr. Gershon is hosting in the congressional district over 10 months. He will hold one of those events, dubbed the Restore American Values Tour, on Wednesday from 7 to 9 p.m. at Tainos Cafe and Lounge in Coram.

“I’m very, very upbeat,” Mr. Gershon, who lives in East Hampton, said on Tuesday, the morning after appearing alongside Suffolk County Legislator Bridget Fleming and Nancy Goroff, who are also seeking the Democratic Party’s nomination, at a forum hosted by the East Hampton Town Democratic Committee at LTV Studios in Wainscott. “I think we’re in great shape. I have every reason to believe that I’m very well known throughout the district, and am still very well liked.”
