Gingerbread Galore

The season of sugar and spice has arrived — it’s time to get your gingerbread on.

As of press time this week, the Golden Eagle art store in East Hampton had a few spots left for gingerbread house decorating tomorrow at 11:30 a.m. for kids ages 6 and up. The cost is $50. Sign-up is online at goldeneagleart.com.

The Children’s Museum of the East End in Bridgehampton is taking advance registration for gingerbread house decorating workshops on Saturday, Dec. 3, and again a week later, on Dec. 10. Each day there will be two workshops, one at 10 a.m. and one at 11:15. A prepaid admission fee of $35 gets a gingerbread house and candy decorations for up to two children; there’s also an option to donate a kit to a family in need, and an option to take the kits home for decorating. Details are online at cmee.org.

Sag Harbor School District families can sign up through the elementary school for Gingerbread Night at the Sag Harbor Learning Center, planned for Friday, Dec. 9, from 6 to 7 p.m.

Looking ahead, gingerbread-cookie decorating for families is on the calendar at the Hampton Library in Bridgehampton on Saturday, Dec. 17. Half-hour time slots are given to five families at a time from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. Sign-up must be done in-person or by phone at 631-537-0015.
