"Black Panther" Outdoors

The Southampton Arts Center will show the popular PG-13 movie "Black Panther" outdoors tomorrow at 7 p.m. in a tribute to the late actor Chadwick Boseman, the film's leading man. Viewers should take blankets or chairs and dress warmly.

On Sunday at noon, the center will offer an outdoor painting class suitable for adults and teens ages 15 and up. Supplies are included and the cost is $45, or $40 for members. A registration link is at southamptonartscenter.org.

Garden Sculptures

"Cloud Garden," an exhibition of sculpture by Monica Banks on display outside at Guild Hall until Monday, is now accompanied by a show of student work -- sculptures by the children of the Bridgehampton Child Care and Recreational Center that were inspired by Ms. Banks's work.

Science, Art, Spanish

Project Most will have a workshop in making color-changing slime on Saturday from 10:30 to 11:30 a.m. for children in second through fourth grades. There will also be a class inspired by patterns in nature on Oct. 17 at the same time for children in 4-year-old prekindergarten through second grade. The cost is $20, or $15 for Project Most members. Class sizes are kept small, and registration is by calling 631-655-4586 or emailing [email protected].

Project Most is also offering classes in conversational Spanish for young children on Saturdays through Oct. 24. New vocabulary and speaking skills will be mixed with stories, crafts, and games to help make learning fun. A session for 4-year-old prekindergarten and kindergarten students is from 10 to 11 a.m., and one for first and second graders is from 11:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. The cost of each is $20, or $15 for members.

Teen Trivia and Tech Time

The East Hampton Library's next teen trivia game is tomorrow, outdoors, from 3:30 to 4:30 p.m. Also, students who need community service hours can earn them through the library by helping adults learn how to better use their computers, tablets, and other electronic devices. Sign-up is online at easthamptonlibrary.org.

D.I.Y. Wreaths and Tutoring

Students in sixth through 12th grades can take a virtual autumn wreath-making class tomorrow from 5 to 6 p.m. with the John Jermain Memorial Library in Sag Harbor. Materials are provided by the library. Children in grades four to eight can mummify their hands -- figuratively, of course -- with a plaster-casting activity led by Joyce Raimondo, an art teacher, next Thursday at 5 p.m. Plastic gauze is provided by the library and participants must also have a jar of petroleum jelly handy. Advance sign-up is required and can be done on the event calendar at johnjermain.org.

John Jermain is also offering math tutoring sessions for middle and high school students. The sessions are from 4 to 5 p.m. on Wednesdays on Zoom.

Halloween Makeup Tips

Every Saturday in October, the Montauk Library is posting a new video to help kids learn creepy but fun Halloween makeup. Last week's episode gave the basics, so be sure to catch up first. The videos are at montauklibrary.org.
