Candidates are being sought for the Student Council officers at the Montauk School in grades five through eight. Sign-up forms and campaign posters are due tomorrow to the club advisers, Shawn Ward and Jennifer Jamet. More information is online at montaukschool.org.
Students must submit their speeches by video recording no later than Monday, and speech videos will be played during fourth period on Wednesday. Voting will take place afterward, and results will be announced by email later that day and by schoolwide announcement next Thursday. The first officers' meeting is at 3 p.m. next Thursday.
In other Montauk School news, there is a candy and toothbrush donation drive taking place through Monday. Students can take new, wrapped items to the school for the benefit of the Montauk Food Pantry.
