Candles With a Cause

For those looking for a last-minute Valentine’s Day gift that will have a real impact, the East End Cares and the Clamshell Foundation charity organizations have teamed up with Hamptons Handpoured to offer a $35 special-edition candle with profits benefiting food pantries here.

The Food Is Love candles can be bought at communityloveproject.org and at stores including Shan, Clic, Obligato, Petit Bleu, and Set Point Tennis in East Hampton, Lazy Point, the Tack Trunk, and Organic Krush in Amagansett, and Urban Zen and Matriark in Sag Harbor.

For Your Reading Pleasure

Bedside Reading, a company that provides free books as hotel amenities, is offering a Valentine’s Day collection tomorrow through Sunday at the Baker House 1650, Mill House Inn, and Maidstone hotel in East Hampton, the Southampton Inn, and the White Fences Inn in Water Mill.

The books include the romance novels “Never Say Goodbye” by Kim Sakwa, “Faye Faraway” by Helen Fisher, “The Perfect Blend” by Kathryn Starke, and the “Echoes” series by A.M. Caplan.

Summertime Special

Through the end of the month, the Southampton Inn is accepting reservations for monthly stays in July or August. A limited number of guest rooms, including some that connect to make a two-room, two-bath suite, will be available for $14,500 per room per month for two people. Housekeeping, daily breakfast, and Wi-Fi are included, but not taxes or fees. The hotel has a 50-foot swimming pool and a tennis court, and offers a shuttle to Cooper’s Beach.
