Wolffer Sag Harbor to Close

Wed, 02/05/2020 - 11:35

Wolffer Estate has put the lease to its restaurant Wolffer Kitchen Sag Harbor at 29 Main Street on the market for $500,000.

“We have had a fantastic journey over the last five years, [but] we are exploring our business options because we don’t want to compromise what we want the restaurants to be,” said Max Rohn, Wolffer’s general manager. “The location is great, but due to the seasonality, and the high costs of food and service, we wanted to look at all of our options.”

The restaurant will remain open until a deal is finalized, he said.

Lee Minetree of the Saunders real estate agency holds the listing. The 3,250-square-foot space has 48 seats, including 8 outdoors and 14 at the bar, plus a basement with dry storage, wine storage, and an office, according to Mr. Minetree. It was fully renovated before the restaurant’s launch in 2015.

“We have made many amazing investments in the space, including the retractable glass front, kitchen equipment, and oak wood floors imported from Bavaria,” said Mr. Rohn.

Wolffer Kitchen in Amagansett is not up for sale, he said. “We are excited to continue to provide a high-quality food and wine experience in Amagansett.”
