The Leiber Collection in Springs is enlivening its sculpture garden this weekend with a performance Friday evening at 7 by Juliet Garrett, a singer-songwriter, and, on Saturday at 4 p.m., a show by Kim Profaci of the Modern Marionette Company.

Garrett, who was raised on Shelter Island and is now based in Brooklyn, will perform an intimate selection of original songs that celebrate the power of storytelling, melody, and human connection, according to the Leiber Collection, which likens her to such classic singer-songwriters as Joni Mitchell and Regina Spektor.

"We are delighted to bring Juliet Garrett to the Leiber Collection for what promises to be a truly magical summer evening," said Ann Stewart, director and curator of the venue. "There is something particularly special about experiencing live music surrounded by art and sculpture, with the garden as our backdrop, and Juliet's music feels perfectly at home here."

Tickets are $25.

Profaci will present "Runway," an original theatrical performance inspired by the wit, elegance, and craftsmanship of Judith Leiber's handbag designs. Blending fashion, art, and puppetry, "Runway" features a cast of handcrafted marionettes whose costumes are inspired by Leiber's minaudieres. Each marionette is a unique work of art.

The Modern Marionette Company has been creating imaginative puppets for more than 20 years. Profaci envisions and builds the puppets, props, and sets using every imaginable resource. Driftwood becomes a puppet's limbs, blades of grass transform into a praying mantis, scarves take on a life of their own. It was in a modern dance class that she developed a fascination for movement and an understanding of body language and nuance that are central to puppetry.

Tickets are $35. Advance reservations are required through a link on the Leiber Collection's website.

This article has been changed from its original and print versions to reflect the postponement of both events to a later date.
