Maurice H. Kouffman of East Hampton died on Tuesday at Stony Brook Southampton Hospital. He was 98. 

Mr. Kouffman was an owner of MKL Construction, East Hampton Real Estate, the East Hampton House, and the old Star Lanes bowling alley. He was one of the founding members of the Jewish Center of the Hamptons.

The family will receive visitors at his son Phillip Kouffman’s house, 33 Cedar Trail in East Hampton, on Sunday and Monday from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. No other services are planned.
