Police Seek Info in Sag Harbor, Sagaponack Crimes

Thu, 09/12/2019 - 13:46

Police have asked for the public’s help to identify two people in connection with crimes committed on the South Fork this summer.

Suffolk County Crime Stoppers issued a bulletin last Thursday with an image of a man who, according to Southampton Town detectives, placed screws on two Sagaponack roads, Potato Road and Daniel’s Lane, in late June and early July. Tires on approximately half a dozen vehicles sustained damage.

Police also seek information about a person who stole a Jeep in Sag Harbor Village last month. A red 2001 Jeep Cherokee went missing from the parking lot of the Breakwater Yacht Club on Bay Street between Aug. 22 and 27, after being left there by its owner during a trip.

Crime Stoppers is offering a cash reward of up to $5,000 for information leading to an arrest in either case. Tips can be submitted by calling 1-800-220-TIPS; texting SCPD and your message to CRIMES (274637), or by emailing tipsubmit.com. All calls, text messages, and emails will be kept confidential, police said.
