The East Hampton Star, the town's official newspaper of record since 1885, is working on a plan to launch a Spanish-language news initiative in 2024. To do so, the team needs the community's help.

East Hampton Village beach parking permits, available for free to those who live or own property in the village, will be offered for sale to East Hampton Town residents who live or own outside of village boundaries on Tuesday from 9 a.m. to 6:30 p.m., a week before they go on sale to the general public.

The East Hampton Lions Club will return to the American Legion Hall in Amagansett to host a blood drive on Monday from 11:45 a.m. to 7:45 p.m. 

The Bridgehampton Child Care and Recreational Center will hold a community health and living fair on Saturday from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m., with free health screenings, workshops on how to afford housing, a free lunch, door prizes, and activities for kids.

Following an overnight snowfall Monday into Tuesday, a handful of delayed openings are in place for Tuesday morning.

Members of the Anchor Society of East Hampton — as well as anyone else interested or simply curious — have been invited to attend the group's New Year walk on Saturday morning at 10:30, meeting at the East Hampton Cinema on Main Street.

The East Hampton Fire Department's next free community dinner will take place on Thursday from 5:30 to 7:30 in the East Hampton High School cafeteria.

Parking will be in the main lot in front of the school; drop-off will be at the front door.

Additional community dinners will happen on Feb. 13 and March 6.

The Wainscott Heritage Project is conducting a reconnaissance survey to guide its mission of historical documentation and preservation.

The National Weather Service is seeking college students who are interested in weather-related careers, offering them an up-close volunteer experience at its office in Upton, on the campus of Brookhaven National Laboratory.

The East Hampton Healthcare Foundation will offer influenza shots, health screenings, the opportunity to apply for colorectal screenings, and assistance making appointments for zero-cost mammograms and Pap tests for uninsured women at a health fair Friday starting at 11 a.m. in the St. Luke's Episcopal Church meeting room.
