Overnight on Aug. 19, someone walked onto the 17th green of the East Hampton Golf Club and pulled out the flag and ball cup. The manager of the club, Thomas Barnard, also told police that youths have been bike-riding on the course after closing hours all summer long, and asked for additional police patrols in the area.

A man with residences in Manhattan and East Hampton was issued a summons on the morning of Aug. 22 for allegedly walking two dogs off the leash in an area of Georgica Beach where dogs are required to be on the leash.

Airlifted After a Crash

An East Hampton man was charged with misdemeanor drunken driving in Springs shortly before 3 a.m. yesterday after crashing a sport utility vehicle into a tree, seriously injuring his passenger.

Sometime between Aug. 5 and Friday afternoon, someone climbed a fence to get into a storage area at the Balcuns Service Station and entered a 2009 Pontiac. Vincent Balcuns told East Hampton Town police the trespasser had removed license plates, which were inside the car, and taken some clothing.

A silver and black Apple iPhone was stolen from a patron at the Stephen Talkhouse on Aug. 10. The next morning Joseph Rose told police he’d located the phone through his Find My Phone app, in a house on Norfolk Street in Springs. The phone then went dead, he said.

John Whitney’s kayak was stolen sometime between Aug. 8 and last Thursday, the second time in the last few weeks.

A black Maserati parked outside Club Leo on Three Mile Harbor Road was vandalized overnight July 16. Yura Shabetayev of Manhattan estimated the deep scratch on its doors, apparently done with a key, would cost $1,000 to repair.

At some point between May 16 and Saturday a blue Dolphin kayak and two fiberglass paddles were stolen from Sharon Gajajiva’s front yard on Oakview Highway.
