A three-vehicle pileup on Montauk Highway in Wainscott sent two people to Southampton Hospital on July 25. The accident occurred in the westbound lane at around 12:15 p.m., in front of the Wainscott Village Shopping Center.

Amagansett

Last September, a Manhattan couple with a house in Amagansett told police, they left their 2003 Chevrolet pickup with a mechanic at the Mobil station on Main Street for maintenance work, and to keep it safe for the winter. On Dec. 5, Catherine Russell said, they received notification that the truck had crossed the Verrazano-Narrows Bridge and that there was not enough money in an E-ZPass account to pay the toll. That same day, the truck was involved in an accident on Montauk Highway in Southampton.
