The Springs School fourth-grade opera, now in its 22nd year, will take the stage at East Hampton High School on Wednesday at 7 p.m.

Over 80 students are taking part in this year's original production, helping with everything from writing and acting to program design, lighting, sound, and costumes. Titled "The Long Island Express," the musical takes place in Springs during the Hurricane of 1938.

"The central theme of the story is one of helping others in challenging times," wrote Meghan Lydon, one of the teachers who is helping to coordinate the opera program.

Admission is free and open to the community.
