East Hampton School Board Will Wait Until May Vote to Find Another Member

The East Hampton School Board agreed last month to forgo appointing a replacement for Richard Wilson, a board member who died on Oct. 7. Through the first half of 2019, the board will operate with six members. Mr. Wilson’s term was to expire in June 2019.

The terms of Wendy Geehreng and J.P. Foster, the board president, also expire in June. Elections for all three seats will be held in May.

In other news of the school, Anthony Genovesi, an East Hampton High School senior, played drums with the New York All-State Jazz Ensemble at the Eastman Theater in Rochester on Saturday. In preparation for the performance, Anthony and the ensemble spent three days rehearsing with the conductor, Richie DeRosa, a Grammy-nominated composer and director of jazz composition and arranging at the University of North Texas.

Sixth graders will perform in a winter concert at the East Hampton Middle School on Wednesday at 7 p.m.

At the John M. Marshall Elementary School, fourth graders will present a winter concert next Thursday at 7 p.m.
