Bay Street Theater Launches Campaign to Eliminate Plastic Straws, Water Bottles

Bay Street Theater in Sag Harbor announced last week that it would be launching a campaign to eliminate the use of plastic straws and water bottles in the village. The effort will begin on Feb. 1, when the theater, in partnership with the Group for the East End, will show “Straws,” a documentary about the health dangers that plastic straws pose to ocean wildlife.

The theater also plans to install a water fountain with a refilling station for reusable water bottles, which will be sold on site. Tickets for “Straws” cost $12 and are available on the theater’s website.
