McEnroe Pro-Am

John McEnroe attracted a large group of tennis players to a pro-am — a fund-raiser for his efforts to bring tennis to at-risk youth in New York City — at the Sportime club in Amagansett Saturday. Among the entrants were the actors Alec Baldwin and Griffin Dunne. Another actor, John Leguizamo, was among the spectators.

Dan Cochrane, one of Sportime’s and the John McEnroe Tennis Academy’s pros, and his amateur partner, Kline Sack, were the winners, defeating Noah Rubin (who recently won Wimbledon’s junior championship) and David Garrett 10-8 in a super tiebreaker final.

Cochrane and his partner, Phil Simmons, are playing this week in the U.S.T.A.’s national playoffs at Yale University. The winning team will get a berth in the U.S. Open’s main draw.
