Say He Violated Stay-Away

A 33-year-old East Hampton man was arrested on four counts of criminal contempt for allegedly violating a court order to stay away from four people he was found in a car with last Thursday.

Mario A. Betancur-Serna was allegedly driving a 2012 Jeep north on Three Mile Harbor-Hog Creek Road with the protected parties in the passenger seats of the Jeep last Thursday afternoon.

Suffolk County Court Judge John B.

Collins signed a stay-away order of protection on Nov. 20, 2018, and it remains in effect until November of 2023. East Hampton Town police did not release the names of the four people protected by the court order.

He was charged with four counts of second-degree criminal contempt, a misdemeanor.

East Hampton Town Justice Lisa R. Rana arraigned him the next day and released him on $500 bail.
