Fled Floyd Street, Cops Say

A drunken driver hit a stop sign and an intersection sign for Spinner Lane and Floyd Street in East Hampton before driving onto a Floyd Street property and then fleeing the scene late last month.

East Hampton Town police said that Luis A. Pajoc-Xuya, 27, of Springs was driving south on Spinner Lane on Feb. 24 around 9:45 p.m. in a 2007 Toyota pickup truck when it left the road and hit the signs. The truck continued onto the property at 59 Floyd Street before Mr. Pajoc-Xuya drove off. It was unclear who called police to report the incident.

A short time later, Mr. Pajoc-Xuya was found in the parking lot at 38 Pantigo Road in East Hampton Village, where he was arrested on a driving while intoxicated charge. He was also charged with leaving the scene of an accident and two traffic infractions.

Police said he was not injured and had no passengers. The truck is owned by Mayra A. Candosanchez of Hampton Bays.
