Two Face D.W.I. Charges

Following a one-car accident in Wainscott last Thursday night, Jake A. Early, 21, of Sag Harbor was arrested on a drunken-driving charge. East Hampton Town police said Mr. Early was traveling north on Route 114 near Wainscott Northwest Road when he drove off the road and crashed into a wooded area off the northbound shoulder just before midnight. Police found him standing outside his 2003 Toyota Camry, and said he appeared intoxicated, performed poorly on all sobriety tests, and was arrested at 12:27 a.m. on Friday.

He was charged with aggravated driving while intoxicated, a misdemeanor, as his blood alcohol level reportedly was above .18. Justice Lisa R. Rana released him on his own recognizance following an arraignment later that morning.

Police also reported the arrest of a 32-year-old Springs man this week. Wilson L. Manuel-Quisque was charged with aggravated D.W.I. on Jan. 18 after police found him in the driver’s seat of a stopped 2005 Jeep with Virginia plates on Maidstone Park Road, near Gallatin Lane, at about 11:10 p.m. The engine was running, with his foot on the brake, according to police, who also noted there were two open Modelo beer cans in the center console. He was held for morning arraignment, and Justice Rana released him on $50 bail.
