How to Administer Narcan

Pierson High School will host an educational class to combat drug overdoses in the community next Thursday night. Attendees will be taught how to administer Narcan, which reverses the effects of an opioid overdose, and will go home with a kit with the antidote and a certificate of completion.

Suffolk County Legislator Bridget Fleming, County Executive Steve Bellone, the County Health Department, the Sag Harbor Village Police Department, HUGS Inc., SAFE in Sag Harbor, and Pierson High School are all sponsors.

County Deputy Sheriff William Wieck will lead the training, which includes the signs to look for in opiate users. The two-hour class, which will be held in the high school library on Jermain Avenue, starts at 6 p.m.

Those planning to attend have been asked to register with Paul Brady of Ms. Fleming’s office by emailing him at or calling 631-852-8400.
