Blood Drive in Memory of Suffolk E.M.S. Training Chief

Thomas Lateulere

The Sag Harbor Volunteer Ambulance Corps will hold a blood drive in memory of Thomas Lateulere on Friday, Aug. 26, from 2 to 8 p.m. at the firehouse on Brick Kiln Road. Mr. Lateulere, who died in June at the age of 52, was the chief of training and education for the Suffolk County Regional Emergency Medical Services Council.

According to Greg Meyer, a lifelong friend, “Every single E.M.T., advanced life support, and paramedic in Suffolk County went through this guy. He took Suffolk County to the forefront of emergency medical services throughout the state.” Mr. Lateulere was also a former chief of the Wading River Fire Department and one of the original flight medics for Stony Brook University Hospital.
