1,000 Adoptions for the ARF Mobile Van

The Animal Rescue Fund of the Hamptons' mobile van

Two years after putting its mobile adoption van on the road, the Animal Rescue Fund of the Hamptons is celebrating 1,000 pet adoptions from the van.

While ARF conducted adoptions at the new Petco store in Bridgehampton on Saturday, Molly, a 4-year-old Scottie recently rescued from a Missouri puppy mill, was lucky number 1,000 to get a home thanks to the mobile van. Christine and Alfonso Paradinas, who live in New York City and East Hampton, are Molly's new owners.

ARF bought the 26-foot van to extend its reach beyond its adoption center in Wainscott and travel to adoption events, fairs, pet supply stores, parades, and other places in order to promote adoptions. Approximately 40 percent of all ARF adoptions are done from the mobile van, the organization said.
