Artists and Writers Night                   

The next Artists and Writers Night at Almond in Bridgehampton will feature Candace Hill Montgomery, a multimedia artist, on Tuesday at 7. A three-course family-style meal will be served. The cost is $45 and includes a glass of wine or beer, but not tax or  gratuity. Reservations, which are required, are by calling the restaurant.  

Cinco de Mayo

La Fondita in Amagansett will celebrate the Mexican holiday of Cinco de Mayo with a selection of specials served all day on Sunday. Menu items will include chicken or pork tamale entrees for $14 and chiles en nogada for $18. The latter dish features a poblano pepper filled with cheese and topped with walnut cream sauce and pomegranate seeds. It will be served with rice, refried beans, and tortillas.

The Springs Tavern will offer $5 food and drink specials all day on Sunday for Cinco de Mayo. The bites include tacos, nachos, jalapeno poppers, chili, and quesadillas, and the drink specials include house-made sangria, margaritas, and shots of Espolon tequila.

Bingeing Ina

For those who missed the debut of “Cook Like a Pro,” Ina Garten’s latest TV series, the Food Channel will be airing the first three episodes this weekend. “Farm Stand,” which focuses on farm-to-table cooking, will air Friday at 12:30 p.m. The second episode, in which Ms. Garten shares seafood tips, will air Saturday at 8:30 a.m. And “Tex-Mex Entertaining” will air on Sunday at 11:30 a.m.

Smokin’ Wolf Special

Smokin’ Wolf in East Hampton is offering a meal of jerk chicken or curry chicken for $14.75 for lunch and dinner on Wednesdays. Both entrees come with coconut rice and peas, fried plantains, lettuce, tomato, and cucumbers. 

Opening for the Season

The Backyard restaurant at Solé­ East in Montauk reopens for the season tonight. The restaurant, which is on Second House Road, will be open for breakfast, lunch, and dinner Thursday through Sunday through Memorial Day weekend, and seven days after that. 

The Beacon in Sag Harbor will open for the season on May 15. The restaurant will serve dinner Wednesday through Sunday through Memorial Day. After the holiday, they will be open on Mondays, and then nightly starting in mid-June. 

Coming Soon

Ed’s Lobster Bar East, an offshoot of a popular New York seafood restaurant, will be taking over the space formerly occupied by Bay Burger in Sag Harbor this summer. The restaurant plans to open by Memorial Day, and the menu will consist of dishes such as lobster rolls, raw bar items, New England clam chowder, lobster pizza, and fried shrimp and scallops.
