Justin Timberlake said that Katie Couric and Lil Wayne weren't exactly two people you'd expect to attend high tea together. That's all well and good, Justin, but an odd pair doesn't necessarily make for what turned out to be the corniest interview I've seen in a long time. What a missed opportunity.

From the start, she commented on his "sparkly teeth" and his "tude." Thanks for pointing that out -- the platinum fronts might have gone unnoticed and what rapper has ever had an attitude?

I realize this was supposed to be an entertaining segment, a time for Couric to appear less serious. She got to have fun playing golf with Timberlake, be a bit scandalous by interviewing the likes of Katy Perry in a church, and showing her imperfections during a bad game of bowling.

I don't blog. This is my first attempt. Why, you ask, have I decided to cross this great divide? I have six words for you: Lil Wayne - Katie Couric -The Interview.

Tonight at 9, CBS is airing Katie Couric's "All Access Grammy Special." Besides the fact that Lil Weezy got eight Grammy nods and sold nearly three million copies of "The Carter III," his lyrics about Hurricane Katrina, upbringing in New Orleans, and absentee father made for prime interview material. It all made for a Barbara Walters moment -- his eyes well up with tears when asked what he would ask President Bush about the Katrina rescue-effort. "I'm a gangsta and gangstas don't ask questions," he said.

In the trailers that I've seen on YouTube and MTV, it struck me how Couric, top news anchor that she is, manages to come off like an infatuated school girl -- grinning, giggling, and nodding her head, from what I can see.
