Free Community Health Fair Friday

A health fair on Friday will bring free health checkups and a chance to apply for colorectal and breast cancer screenings.

The East Hampton Healthcare Foundation and Stony Brook Southampton Hospital are co-sponsoring the free community health fair at the Most Holy Trinity School at 77 Buell Lane in East Hampton Village. Nutritious refreshments will be served, and a stress-relief circle will take place from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m.

Free cholesterol, blood pressure, and H.I.V. screenings will be available. Attendees can also apply for colorectal screenings and make appointments for free mammogram and Pap tests for uninsured women over the age of 40.

Representatives from EmblemHealth Medicare, Hudson River HealthCare, the East Hampton Town Human Services Department, HEAP (the Home Energy Assistance Program), Project Warmth, and the Retreat will be on hand with information about programs. Applications and information will also be available for the Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program (or SNAP food stamps), and there will be an opportunity to speak with a nutrition educator.

Those looking for more information can call the Healthcare Foundation at 631-329-2425.
