DETAILS: EMERGENCY PREPAREDNESS
For Immediate release:
From Southampton Town Emergency management in conjunction with the Southampton Town Supervisor’s Office, Southampton Town Highway Department and Sothampton Town Waste Management.
As we work to recover from Hurricane Irene and return to normal we ask for assistance from the public in a couple of areas:
Supervisor Anna Throne-Holst has announced that Town Hall will be open for business as usual.
Please do not call 911 or police headquarters tying up emergency lines for information regarding power outages. LIPA has many crews looking to restore power throughout the Township. If you feel the need to call contact LIPA at 1-800-490-0075.
Please do not call 911 or police headquarters tying up emergency lines for information regarding when Dune Road will open. We will announce when it is.
Dune Road is still currently closed due to overwashes. We will be working to assess any road undermining and to remove sand from the roadway to make the road safe for travel ass resources allow.
We will have information regarding what residents and commercial landscapers need to do with debris from yard clean-up later this morning. Again please do not call Town Hall, Town Highway or Town Police for this information at this time it will be announced shortly.
Thank you for your assistance.
