Men and women donned exotic fascinators and mad hatter hats at the Marders booth at the Hampton Classic on Thursday, vamping, snapping selfies, and perhaps imagining the perfect occasion to show off one of the spectacular toppers.

The  elaborate, one-of-a-kind hats are handmade by the designers at Marders in all shapes and sizes, and are perfect for any V.I.P. tent, and also lots of fun to try on, as many a shopper at the Classic will attest.

Clifford Clarke of Marders was on hand Thursday to pick the best hat for each face.

The whimsical creations at the Classic range in price from $129.95 to $229.95, and can also be purchased -- and personalized -- through the Marders garden shop on Snake Hollow Road in Bridgehampton.
