A Girl Scout Gold Award

For her Girl Scout Gold Award, Cassady Czarnecki helped update and install a sign at her childhood beach, Indian Wells in Amagansett.

Cassady Czarnecki, an ambassador girl scout in Troop 1768 in East Hampton, will be recognized by the Suffolk County Girl Scout Council next month along with other Long Island recipients of the Girl Scout Gold Award. Cassady’s Gold Award project was to research, construct, and install an updated sign listing beach rules and regulations at Indian Wells Beach in Amagansett.

She worked with East Hampton Town officials, including the supervisor, the town attorney’s office, and the Natural Resources and Parks Departments to complete the project, even identifying outdated town code information listed on the old sign. Ocean Graphics helped her design and produce the finished product.

Cassady, an East Hampton High School senior heading to Marist College in the fall, is a daughter of Lynn and Jim Czarnecki. She has been a scout for 13 years, with Linda Blowe as her troop leader throughout.
