Unanimous Vote Axes $5 Million Housing Bond.
Town board acts after poll is taken The results of a poll taken last week about affordable housing pushed East Hampton Town Board members to vote unanimously on Tuesday against putting a $5 million bond for housing on the November ballot. By a margin of 3-to-1, those residents polled said they would vote to defeat the referendum if it appeared, and more than half, 52 percent, disagreed that "we need more affordable housing to ensure a mixed-income community."
