Percy Hammond of The New York Herald Tribune was the dean of Broadway theater critics in the 1920s. He and his wife bought Phebe Huntting's old Main Street boarding house in 1926, named it "Aunt Phebe's," and moved it to Hither Lane, where it still stands.
