DOMINY CRAFTSMEN Charles F. Hummel, curator emeritus of the Winterthur Museum in Delaware, will present a 350th anniversary lecture called "Actually Earning a Living: The Dominy Craftsmen of East Hampton" on Saturday, at 4:30 p.m. at Guild Hall.From 1760 to the mid-1800s and spanning three generations, members of the Dominy family - Nathaniel 4th (1737-1812), Nathaniel 5th (1770-1852), and Felix (1800-1868) - plied their trade as cabinetmakers, clockmakers, wheelwrights, and carpenters at their shops on North Main Street.
Mr. Hummel, who is the author of "With Hammer in Hand: The Dominy Craftsmen of East Hampton," teaches a course on colonial craftsmen in Winterthur's program in early American culture.
