The Star Goes To Celebrate Paumanok Path
The grand finale of celebratory hikes marking the completion of the 47-mile East Hampton section of the Paumanok Path took place Saturday afternoon, a quick-paced six-and-a-half miler from Third House in Montauk east to the Montauk Lighthouse.

Nature Notes
From the way things are progressing, it looks as if All Saints' Day will be coincident with the peak in fall colors. Shortly after, the leaves will turn drab and begin to fall en masse. After an extremely atypical spring, fall is not at all unfamiliar.

Biting On Napeague
The big chew that started just about two weeks ago on Napeague continued during the week. Every day, surfcasters have lined the ocean beach at various points from Hither Hills to the Amagansett highlands pulling striped bass, bluefish, and weakfish from the surf.
