Library, Museum Face New Century
Ever since the Rogers Memorial Library in Southampton decided that it had outgrown its historic mock-Tudor building on the corner of Job's Lane and would have to move elsewhere, the neighboring Parrish Art Museum has coveted the space for expansion of its own.

To Honor Friedan, Schnabel, Spielberg
Betty Friedan, Julian Schnabel, and Steven Spielberg will be honored by Guild Hall on Dec. 1 at its 14th annual Academy of the Arts awards dinner at the Plaza Hotel. The evening's master of ceremonies will be the ABC-TV anchorman Peter Jennings.

ROSS BLECKNER: Artist Of Light And Form
There's a solemnity and grace to Ross Bleckner's painting that distinguishes his work. Although his paintings retain abstract elements, he uses representational images - or images that hover on the edge of recognizability - in a way that allows the viewer to connect on an emotional level.
