Nature Notes
Well, here we go into September. It's been a wacky summer, after a strange spring. A couple of near-miss tropical storms and everything's back to normal - not.

Big Blues, A Megafluke
Large ocean waves and a dearth of tuna off in deep water kept anglers close to shore during the week with very productive results. Boaters fishing in Block Island Sound, Gardiner's Bay, and Sag Harbor should be getting sore from reeling in big bluefish, striped bass, fluke, weakfish, black sea bass, and porgies.

Notes From Madoo
Late summer was always full of evening. Gleaming things. Whites. Panamas, boaters, shuttlecock on the gravel. "Did you bring the racquets in?"
