Vanished Places
Considered the finest Greek Revival house on Main Street in East Hampton, the Gardiner White House, then belonging to Sarah Diodati Gardiner, had its roof blown off in the 1938 hurricane. What remained was demolished and a new house was constructed. The house is now the residence of David Lion Gardiner.
