Don't Foul The Waters
East Hampton Town Supervisor Cathy Lester, the Town Board, and the Departments of Planning and Natural Resources should be commended for putting East Hampton way ahead of nearly all Long Island municipalities in improving surface waters. The same year, Congress unanimously passed a food safety bill that expanded the Environmental Protection Agency's authority over agricultural chemicals and directed the agency to add potential neurological damage in children to its list of factors requiring consideration.
