Anyone who has driven on the Montauk Highway in the past few months knows that, as Jerry Lee Lewis would put it, there's a whole lotta shakin' goin' on.
Bags Of Mush
On Tuesday, East Hampton Town Councilman Peter Hammerle was seen pressing little bags of black mush on anyone he came across. You would think from the pride and enthusiasm he showed that the moist, granular stuff, which bore a suspicious resemblance to dirt, was valuable. It is.
Spring Break
Parents got a break this year during their kids' spring break, which started on Friday and will end on Monday. For a cool $10, they could sign up their children - who inevitably have gargantuan portions of leisure time in contrast to their harried caretakers - for a five-day morning recreation program offered at the Springs, Montauk, and East Hampton schools.
Helping The Disabled
Admit it, you've probably done it at least once: pull into a plainly marked handicapped parking space while running a quick errand to the post office, grocery store, or bank. No big deal, right? It's only for five minutes.
