Spring Close restaurant has become a favorite with year-rounders since it opened last year in the spacious old house where the second incarnaton of the Laundry held forth for a while. The menu, mainly continental American, starts out the same whether for lunch or dinner, with zuchini chips or cheeseburger sliders as notable appetizers. Lunch has basic sandwiches but, like at dinner, you can order a bowl of cottage pie with sirloin and mashed potatoes. The dinner menu has a hefty bouillabaisse and a pork loin Milanese, while linguini comes with freshly roasted Little Necks instead of pre-made clam sauce. Although there's a lively bar crowd on weekends and an active wood-burning oven for pizzas, the dining room is relatively quiet.
