Lunch, as it is called because of the large sign on its roof, is a retro-style seaside eatery amid the sand dunes on Napeague. It has been in operation for 48 years, making it an East End icon. Known for its lobster rolls, charbroiled fish, and homemade desserts, there’s a full bar, frozen drinks, and extensive gluten-free offerings. Children’s dishes come with a complimentary beverage. There is plenty of outdoor seating. Fred Terry, who founded the Lobster Roll and set one up on the North Fork, has turned in a different direction this year, opening the North Fork Tasting Room in Riverhead.
