East by Northeast, a sister of the Harvest restaurant, has undergone a total renovation. As its name implies, the kitchen specializes in Pan-Asian cooking. It has natural stone walls, a spacious bar and lounge, a glassed-in wine cellar, a view of Fort Pond and the setting sun, and a festive atmosphere. It showcases fresh Montauk seafood and shellfish, locally grown produce, serious steaks, and dishes like pan-roasted tilefish, and panko-crusted seared tuna steak. Year-rounders are still trying to figure out how it managed to offer such a low-priced prix fixe during the off-season.
