The Dockside, in the Sag Harbor American Legion building, has a patio overlooking the harbor for ideal outdoor dining as well as a pleasant space inside. Local wines, such as a rosé from Channing Daughters, are sometimes featured. The menu is of modest size and the kitchen turns out some inspired entrees like brick-pressed chicken cooked with preserved lemon and fluke baked in parchment with artichoke, tomatoes, and capers. A few healthy dishes are marked with a W for wellness. (You know, they probably include kale.) Regulars know to ask for the specials every night. The Dockside uses free-range poultry, meats with no hormones or antibiotics, and provisions are local otherwise.
