Dave's Grill

Dave's Grill deserves its reputation as one of the best restaurants around.  The setting is right on the docks, with views of the Viking Fleet coming and going, and there are tables indoors and out. Reservations are same-day only, and you can't make one till 4:15. The cooking is always inventive. There's onion and potato-crusted flounder, for example, and you can have Dave's famous cioppino or cioppino Thai-style. An appetizer might be risotto croquettes with smoked mozzarella and basil aioli. The chocolate "bag" filled with whipped and ice cream is hard to resist, and the list of drinks is serious, with single malts and cognacs, and a coffee "bar," that takes off where Irish coffee ends.
