Absentee ballots for the Nov. 8 election can be requested using a New York State Board of Elections form until Tuesday. It can be downloaded from the board’s Web site, elections.state.ny.us, and must be mailed to a registered voter’s own county board of elections. The form is also available at East Hampton Town Hall, local post offices, and libraries, and can be asked for from the members of the respective political committees. The Suffolk County Board of Elections address is 700 Yaphank Avenue, Yaphank 11980-0700.
Applications are to contain the voter’s address, an address to which the absentee ballot is to be sent, and an explanation why the voter will be unable to make it to the polls.
Those who are not yet registered to vote in this election missed their chance to do so by mail, but can still register in person at the Suffolk County Board of Elections.
