Dear Editor,

As the winner of the Leaders of Hope contest, sponsored by AARP, I would like to thank the citizens of the East End and Montauk who voted for me, and especially Janis Hewitt for encouraging so many of you. I am extremely honored and excited to have won $2,500 for the Montauk Food Pantry.

Fran Ecker and I have been working at the pantry for over 20 years and we are very happy that we have so many good people working there, making it a success.

We hope that it will continue to do well in the future.
